Niki Panich, CEO @ Calumeo #AccessAlberta Profile

We recently had a chance to catch up with Niki Panich, one of the many ex-pat Albertans living in the San Francisco Bay Area, as part of our #AccessAlberta campaign and our profile of Albertans Around the World.

Niki moved to Palo Alto to complete a graduate degree at Stanford Graduate School of Business and pursue innovation in healthcare. Niki is currently back in Calgary working during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide front line patient care as she has an active Canadian MD license and was eager to provide assistance in her community.

When asked what the biggest lesson she has learned from Silicon Valley, she said:

The growth mindset and innovative nature of Silicon Valley is infectious! The speed and frequency at which startups iterate is astonishing. By immersing myself in this culture, I learned much about myself and achieved more in a short period of time than I ever imagined.

She achieved an additional certification in Social Innovation while at Stanford. She studied and participated in impact investment and developed a wonderful network of colleagues who she seeks to change the world with!
