Operating Committee Overview
We are looking for Operating Committee (OC) members to manage our events, workshops and accelerator programming, as well as drive attendance at our events.
This is an opportunity for someone passionate about tech who is interested in learning about and connecting into the Silicon Valley ecosystem.
As an OC member you will be able to increase your own profile in the tech ecosystem - both in Canada and Silicon Valley; get more involved in Silicon Valley style programming, and have the chance to build a network that will support your own pursuits in the future.
You will lead or co-lead one of the Subcommittees
You will report into the CEO and liaison with the CSV team members who will provide back-end support and help with execution
You will be profiled on our website, in marketing collateral, as well as invited to attend all CSV events and programming
6-month term
Estimated time commitment is 2-5 hours a week depending on the subcommittee projects and events
Opportunity for continued involvement in a part time paid capacity at the end of the 6-month term

Community Engagement coordinator:
Responsibilities include:
Active engagement on our membership platform (Mighty Networks)
Active in women’s related slack groups and social media groups
Respond and engage on our social media channels in a timely manner
Curate content for our community
Share relevant content within our platforms
Note: This is an unpaid 3-month volunteer role with an opportunity to convert into a paid part time role. Time commitment is minimum 10-hours per week.
Marketing Coordinator:
Responsibilities
Write original content for promotions, events, newsletters, blog posts, social media
Create standardized email meet & greet, outreach, follow-up, and similar communications
Research potential content for publications and programs (events, organizations, people, topics, and similar)
Design layout & artwork for email, newsletter, blog post, social media (visual/graphic design)
Coordinate all aspects of events/programs such as creating social media posts, designing digital assets, reaching out to speakers, participant communications
Ongoing updates to subscriber lists & contact database - other tasks as required
Qualifications & Skills Required
Good writing skills and great command of English
Comfortable with CRM and marketing automation tools like HubSpot
Event coordination and planning experience beneficial
Familiar with office tools such as G Suite, Slack, Asana or similar
Familiar with graphic design tools, such as Canva
Highly organized and can manage multiple different projects at the same time
Enjoy interacting with people
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems and streamlining solutions.

operations & marketing, angel fund:
We launching the Silicon Valley Branch of Women’s Equity Lab (WEL), an early stage collective angel fund, aimed at getting women involved in early stage investing, and providing funding to female led startups.
Under the WEL model, partners in the investment round meet regularly to learn how to invest in companies, discuss opportunities, vet deal flow and make investment decisions. Every participant ends up with a deeper understanding of the angel investment process, a portfolio of early stage companies and a great network of accomplished women.
We are seeking a talented, organized, and enthusiastic operations and marketing coordinator.
This role includes:
Coordinate and compile the necessary incorporation documents for fund formation
Draft communication to investors
Liaison with General Partners from WEL Victoria, Vancouver and Okanagan
Setup a project timeline and ensure deadlines are met
Partake in planning meetings and provide minutes and action items in a timely manner
Compile our target list of potential investors
Develop 2021 schedule for speakers and workshop discussions
Design marketing collateral including one-pager overview, investment deck and website
Manage our CRM and investment database
Setup social media accounts and manage
Organize, setup and review subscription agreements and other legal documents
Qualifications:
Enjoy startups!
Curious and interested in learning about venture investing
Excited about advancing female representation on capitalization tables
Team player and enjoy collaborating with multiple stakeholders and team members
Great communicator
Highly organized
Comfortable with learning new systems such as Canva, Photoshop, Slack, HubSpot, Asana, Google drive, Squarespace or Wordpress
Expectation:
Highly committed for at least a 6 month period
10 hours per week
